Consultation stresan® Kirchhellener Sand

We’ve been active in the equestrian sport industry for over 25 years and have extensive competence in equestrian sand and riding arena surfaces. We can offer comprehensive advice on various footings for riding arenas and paddocks through our many years of experience and specialist knowledge.
Not all sands are the same – and equestrian sand is a very special kind of mineral rock. Whether it’s for an outdoor arena, indoor arena, lunging circle, horse walker or for turnout areas like paddocks and open stables, we have developed a variety of stresan® equestrian sand mixes to provide you with the optimum footing. Our equestrian sand mixes are composed specially for each discipline to give your surface the best conditions for training.

Personalised consultation

We base our personal and individual consultation on the determination of your needs and your individual requirements for the surface or turnout area. For this we need specific information from you, such as:

  • What size is the planned or existing space?
  • What construction or sub-base will you use?
    • Is the sub-base permeable – does it have drainage capacities?
    • Is the sub-base impermeable, i.e. the water should drain over the surface?
  • How many horses will be using the space each day?
  • Is the area to be used for the training of a special discipline, should the ground be suitable for all-round use or will it serve chiefly for turnout?

Given this information, we can determine the right footing for your needs and make you a non-binding offer. After you’ve decided on a footing, we’ll be happy to answer any further questions and advise you on grooming and suitable tools as well as your surface’s renovation or removal.

Surface improvements – footing renovation

Are you not satisfied with the existing surface because it’s become too hard or too loose, too deep, slippery or no longer has adequate drainage? Together with you, we’ll take a look at the existing surface and search for the causes. We’ll take samples to analyse the composition and use them to find the best possible solution for improving your surface. The lifetime of a footing can’t be precisely given, and depends on the choice of material, climate and weather conditions, intensity of use and, above all, its maintenance.

We look forward to carrying out your project
